Australian Wildlife Protection Training Course Information<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u201cI want to work with wildlife in the future!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to learn more about wildlife conservation!\u201d<\/p>\n

If this is you, this is the course for you.<\/p>\n

To provide more holistic training courses, AJWCEF works with Queensland Government wildlife conservation and rescue departments, and wildlife facilities to provide training for wildlife rearing and nursing delivered by on-the-ground veterinarians, rangers, and animal carers.<\/p>\n

There are three courses on offer (Introductory, Applied and Clinical)<\/p>\n

The introductory course<\/strong> includes seminars and practical experience which cover the basics of Australian wildlife, their protection and care. This course is recommended for those without much knowledge or experience around wildlife.<\/p>\n

For more information<\/p>\n

The applied course<\/strong> examines wildlife in the context of their ocean and land environments. We look at the great diversity of sea life made possible by the subtropical ocean environment and learn about what we can do to protect it. While on land, we build on the concepts of the introductory course to dive deeper into Australian wildlife, with a particular focus on endangered species, their captive breeding and protection, and their rescue and rehabilitation.<\/p>\n

The clinical course<\/strong> provides specialist practical training for the care (rescue, rehabilitation, nursing) of Australia\u2019s unique animal population (marsupials, monotremes, birds, reptiles, amphibians) under the guidance of Australian Veterinary Association registered veterinarians and veterinary nurses. There will be unique opportunities not available elsewhere for dissection and\/or clinical autopsy of distinctive Australian animals that have died or have been euthanised, such as marsupials (e.g. koalas). We also cover the care of young animals whose parents have been killed in road accidents, learning the skills to raise the young.<\/p>\n
