Wildlife Conservation Training Course information (Summer 2022)
Due to the continuation of the COVID-19 pandemic, courses have had to remain on hold. However, with restrictions relaxing around international entries into Australia, we are gearing up to restart the 2022 advanced and introductory AJWCEF wildlife conservation training courses between August and the middle of September 2022. We are planning to open applications for the training courses towards the beginning of May. Please stay tuned to our homepage for notifications regarding applications.
CEO was interviewed
Dr.Mizuno was interviewed by a Japanese newspaper regarding the Australian government's listing of koalas as an endangered species, his views on the listing, and the status of local conservation efforts. The article was published in the Asahi Kodomo Shimbun on Friday, March 25.

SDGs Online Education Seminars
In addition to the online seminars we have been providing since last year, we have developed an online Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) education program about Australian environmental and wildlife protection, allowing us to deliver a variety of educational programs to people in Japan despite the closed international border.
<Message About the 2022 AJWCEF Training Course>
We regret to inform you that we have decided to postpone the Clinical Training Courses, the Introductory Training Course and the Applied Training Course have been postponed until the summer of 2022.
As vaccinations have progressed and restrictions on travel to and from Australia have started to ease, we have been preparing for the training course in the hope that the situation will improve until the very last minute. However, we have not yet reached an environment where you can safely travel to Australia.
The dates and details of the 2022 summer training course will be announced on this website as soon as it is ready.
Please refer to the AJWCEF home page (https://ajwcef.org/) for the opening of applications of the summer 2022 training courses.
AJWCEF Managing Director, Dr Tetsuo Mizuno, gave the keynote address and took part in a panel discussion recently at an online session of the Forum to Consider a National Biodiversity Strategy hosted by the Japan Committee of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN-J).
The aim of the session, hosted by Change Our Next Decade (COND), was to consider coordinating multiple actors, focusing on the youth who will carry forward the next generation, to take a multi-pronged approach to encouraging the general public to change their lifestyle. For the keynote address, Dr Mizuno spoke about “The path to coexistence”, after which he participated in a panel discussion with other speakers.
It is our sincere hope that these types of opportunities will see collaborative efforts towards humans learning to coexist with nature arise between various actors in this space.
